 In 1971, Mr. Federico designed his first production at Repertorio Español and joined the company full-time in 1972, when the company relocated to the Grammercy Arts Theatre. Since then, he has created sets, lighting and costumes for over 100 productions, as well as designing the lighting for Spanish dancer Pilar Rioja throughout the United States.

 Mejía was recently incorporated to Repertorio's Board of Directors. He joined the company in 2001 to head the corporate and foundation fundraising efforts. During his tenure, he has been instrumental in strengthening Repertorio’s endowment, cultivating donor relations, and steadily securing new and continued capital, operational and programming support from major corporations and foundations.
