¡Dignidad! is Repertorio Español’s arts-in-education program that helps students understand and appreciate theatre.

Through our Mentorship Program, Repertorio also believes that students can be introduced to careers in the arts such as acting, playwrights, designers, technicians, and administrators.

Garcia Lorca - The House of Bernarda Alba & Bodas de Sangre
Federico García Lorca was born in Fuente Vaqueros, a small farming town outside Granada, the urban center of Andalucía. He grew up with a great love of the region with its "melodic poplars and lyrical rivers."

The House of the Spirits
Isabel Allende is Latin America's most famous and beloved female writer. In 2007, Repertorio Español comissioned, playwright Caridad Svich, to adapt her novel "The House of the Spirits". The result was a new play which premiered at Repertorio Español in 2009 to critical and audience acclaim.

El Quijote
El Quijote is a polyphonic play in which many different genres such as comedy, tragedy and farce collide to form a carnival-like and vibrant Don Quijote that is rich in its musicality.” The play is a collection of 12 scenes that present different stories based on the original text of Cervantes. Carmen Rivera - La gringa
Carmen Rivera is the author of two plays produced by Repertorio Español. La Gringa was presented in 1996 as part of ¡Voces Nuevas! - the theatre's Obie-winning project in support of emerging Hispanic voices in New York theatre and is still running on its 7th consecutive year. La Gringa is one of Repertorio's audience favorites, especially among our student audieces. Here you will find a study guide for this marvelous show.

Gabriel García Márquez - Chronicle of a Death Foretold
Gabriel García Márquez was born in the northern Colombian town of Aracataca on March 6, 1928. He spent his childhood there living with his mother's parents and listening to their stories. He attributes much of his narrative style to his grandmother's homespun, colorful tales, while his grandfather steeped him in military lore of Colombian history that would later figure prominently in his writing.

Vieques & Bufalo Herido Study Guide
Here is the study guide, to one of Repertorio Español’s most successful and exciting programs: the “Nuestras Voces” Playwright Competition sponsored by The Metropolitan Life Foundation and The Jerome Foundation. In this first booklet we cover the first two winners (2000 and 2001) of the competition: Vieques, by Puerto Rican playwright Jorge González, and Búfalo herido (Wounded Buffalo) by Mexican playwright Jorge Celaya.

CubaTeatro - Abelardo Estorino
