Drama without borders
Columbus Alive
Crónica has been adapted several times, including as a 1987 film and a 1995 musical. It is generally acknowledged, however, that Repertorio Español's version, with its Colombian roots and its Latin American cast, comes closest to the vision of García Márquez. In Spanish or in English, it should be memorable.
Making a Killing
The Village Voice
Accomplished evocation of mid-'50s small-town Colombia, steeped in almost feudal tradition and some haunting cumbia melodies, returns the play to its tropical roots.
